Island of Montecristo

It is a wild and uninhabited island, refuge of migratory birds. Monte Cristo is one of the most inaccessible and wild islands of the Tuscan archipelago and at the same time the farthest one from the mainland.
To get to Monte Cristo a ministerial permit is necessary, which is mainly granted only for reasons of study or research. The island has been made famous by one of the scenes of Alexandre Dumas' novel “The Count of Monte Cristo”.
